Yitao Wang
PhD candidate at Lehigh University | Computational Materials Science
Welcome! I am Yitao Wang (王逸弢). I also go by my coffee name Tony. I am a PhD candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh University, under the guidance of Prof. Fadi Abdeljwad. I leverage computational tools (i.e., phase field, molecular simulations, Monte Carlo, and physics-informed machine learning) and frameworks on HPC to advance our understanding and innovations in interface-driven problems. Currently supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, my research develops advanced computational models to uncover the interplay between alloy chemistry and structural defects under external stimuli (i.e., thermal and irradiation).
My research interests more broadly lie in computational materials physics and chemistry at the microscale and mesoscale, with an emphasis on the theory and application of molecular dynamics, phase field, and AI/ML to tackle challenges across aerospace, automotive, and nuclear energy.
Previously I earned my BS in Marine Engineering at Dalian Maritime University and MS in Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University under the supervision of Prof. Zhaoxu Meng.
